Remanufacturing
It takes approximately 3 litres of oil and 4 litres of petroleum to produce a single toner cartridge.
97% of a typical cartridge is reusable and can be remanufactured effectively 4-5 times.
In 2008, 1.9 billion printer cartridges were used worldwide, if stacked end to end this would stretch to 140,000 miles or 5.5 times around the world.
Not only do we conserve valuable fuels, but preventing new cartridges being made also saves energy and reduces the amount of empties entering landfill.
In the UK alone, 45 million printer cartridges end up in landfill each year, a single cartridge can take up to 500 years to fully decompose.
